Bio

Connect began rapping and producing HipHop in the late 2000’s performing alongside Huske in Western Sydney house party HipHop act ‘LMNO’.

In 2011, Connect began his solo act releasing dozens of raw hiphop tracks online, garnering a large underground local and online following and collaborating with international producers including Hunke (U.S.), The Broke Unknown (GER) and Jolly Roger (UKR).

Connect released his debut EP, The Blue Pause, in 2017 which showcased his maturity as a musician, producer and artist. The Blue Pause marked a musical milestone for Connect, blurring the lines and seamlessly aligning genres to create a hiphop, rock, blues, jazz fusion.

In 2018 Connect formed Rock/HipHop duo, Light from a Stranger with Jyder and they released their debut EP, Grey Area in 2019. Throughout 2019 and up until the COVID lockdowns of 2020, Light from a Stranger became a mainstay in the Sydney music scene earning the respect of the local HipHop community as pioneers of the modern HipHop Rock sound.

In 2020 MC Connect released his debut single Passion for the Passion, a fast-paced ode to his love for music and life. His fiery, high energy rap style and  witty wordplay cement Connect as a force to be reckoned with.

MC Connect followed up with his second solo single release, I'm Lucky in 2021, a song that recognises his position as both a privileged man living in the first world, and his relative disadvantage as a young man from Western Sydney having to work up from a position of no wealth or status.

With COVID in the rearview mirror, in 2023 MC Connect began releasing afrobeats/rap tunes with Sr. Malakai who recently arrived in Australia from Kenya, Nairobi. In 2024 the two became regulars on the local Sydney music scene performing at many venues and releasing a batch of earworms that blend the influences of Africa and Australia. The duo continue to release new music which delivers a unique and futuristic Afro-Australian sound.

On the 13th of April 2024, MC Connect launches his next Ausrap single reflecting on the some of the less-than-genuine characters in the rap game who quickly come and leave.

Connect has a slew of new single releases lined up for 2024 and you can catch him gigging regularly in Sydney and New South Wales.
